Overview

SnapLink ("the Extension") is a browser extension that allows users to capture screenshots and upload them to cloud storage. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

Data Collection

What We Collect

Device Identifier: A randomly generated, anonymous identifier stored locally on your device to track usage statistics. This ID:
- Is generated locally and never linked to your personal identity
- Format: dev_[timestamp]_[random string]
- Cannot be used to identify you personally
Usage Statistics: We collect anonymous usage data including:
- Number of screenshots uploaded
- Total data size uploaded
- Timestamps of usage (for monthly quota tracking)
Screenshot Content: Screenshots you capture are:
- Uploaded to our cloud storage (Cloudflare R2)
- Accessible via the URL provided to you
- Not analyzed, processed, or viewed by us

What We Do NOT Collect

Personal information (name, email, address)
Browsing history
Cookies or tracking data from websites you visit
Any data from pages you do not screenshot

Data Storage

Local Storage: Your device ID and preferences are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API
Cloud Storage: Uploaded screenshots are stored on Cloudflare R2 servers
Statistics Database: Anonymous usage statistics are stored in Cloudflare D1 database

Data Usage

We use collected data solely for:

Providing the screenshot upload service
Enforcing usage quotas (monthly upload limits)
Improving our service through anonymous analytics

Data Sharing

We do NOT:

Sell your data to third parties
Share your data with advertisers
Use your data for marketing purposes

Data Retention

Screenshots: Stored indefinitely unless manually deleted
Usage Statistics: Retained for service operation and may be aggregated for analytics
Device ID: Stored locally until you uninstall the extension

Your Rights

You can:

Uninstall the extension at any time to stop all data collection
Clear local storage through Chrome's settings
Request deletion of your uploaded content by contacting us

Security

All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption
Cloud storage is protected by Cloudflare's security infrastructure
No sensitive credentials are stored in the extension

Children's Privacy

This extension is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of any significant changes through the extension or our website.
